ASME BPVC Sec. VIII Div.2- Pressure Vessel Design Course
This standard is an alternative rule for design of pressure vessels. This course is intended to give technical knowledge to engineers who would like to widen their horizons to design pressure vessels having high pressure, complicated details in geometry or mechanical loads, and/ or important to safety or/ and economic for industries. In this course a close scrutiny of most of the ASME paragraphs including Paragraphs of material, design by rules, design by analysis, test, and examination will be on the agenda, especially Parts 4, 5 and 7. An FEM approach is needed to examine code allowable limits for primary stresses, secondary stresses, and peak stresses, hence a vessel will be modeled in this course to be examined the ASME allowable limits. Fatigue and fracture analyses will be described in separated courses (Please refer to the other training courses), but a summarized description of them will be discussed in this class. Moreover an overview of ACE tool to making ASME FEM concepts easier to grasp will be presented. Furthermore, an overview of common design codes like standard EN13445 will be presented.
